Purpose/Hypothesis


Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment is to compare distillates of fermented and non-fermented cranberry juice on E.coli. Back in 1741, the pilgrims first landed in America, this is when Native Americans showed them that cranberry pulp helped clean arrow wounds. In more recent studies the cranberries juice have been used to treat urinary tract infections, which is caused by invasive bacteria in the lower intestine.


H1- The fermented juice will have a larger zone of inhibition than the non-fermented juice when tested on E. coli.
